   Margie Vines age 87, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Festus. She was born May 30, 1932 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, the daughter of the late Beulah (nee White) and Alonzo Akers.
   She was married for 57 years to former Festus Junior High School principal William R. "Bill" Vines, who passed away September 3, 2013. Also preceding her in death are her brother James Akers; sisters-in-law Jeanette Robinson, and Madelyn Vines; brothers-in-law Brannon and Robert Vines; and nephew Paul Vines.
   She is survived by sisters-in-law Meryl Akers of St. Louis, Missouri, and Judy Connor of Georgia; brothers-in-law, Ronald Vines of Birmingham, Alabama; nieces and nephews Robert (Lee Ann) Vines of St. Louis, Gary (Janice) Vines of Colorado, Thomas Vines of Waynesville, Missouri, Kathryn Akers of St. Louis, Gay Vines of Montgomery, Alabama, James (Donna) Akers of St. Louis, Susan (John) Blattel of St. Louis, and William (Janine) Akers of Kansas City, Missouri; God-children Amanda (Tony) Fischer of Festus, Michael (Elizabeth) Page, Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas; and dear neighbors Roy, Betty, and Jeff Leftridge of Festus.
   Margie worked at West End Pharmacy in Bonne Terre as a drug store clerk and bookkeeper. She and Bill also owned and operated Fults Floral Shop in Festus for several years. Margie was a passionate crafter, crocheting numerous afghans and decorative doilies, and designing keepsake Christmas ornaments. She was a skilled embroiderer, creating beautiful crewel pictures, as well as a meticulous calligrapher, addressing invitations and place cards for family weddings. Margie and Bill loved to travel, especially with their friends Mike and Janice Page.
   Visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, followed by interment in St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
   Margie's family and friends would like to thank the staff of loving caregivers at both Crystal Oaks in Festus and Friendship Village in Chesterfield, Missouri.
