   Patricia Chmela age 95, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Mercy Hospital South in South St. Louis County, Missouri. She was born May 27, 1924 in Hematite, Missouri, the daughter of the late Madeline Provost (nee Kershaw) and Hugh Orium Gerber.
   She is survived by a son Michael Chmela of Festus; daughters Mary "Christine" White of Herculaneum, Missouri, and Robin Elisabeth (Kevin) Gregory of Barnhart, Missouri; grandchildren Tammy Chmela, Kelly (Brad) Gregg, Mike (Jessica) White, and Andy (Michele) White; great-grandchildren Carlito Shores, Quana Shores, Krystal Belosi, Dawson Chmela, Jadyn Kelly, and Kyle White; and great-great-grandchildren Mila, and Jaycee.
   In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Edward Victor Chmela; and her sister Kassie (the late Warren) Grossman.
   She was a retired secretary from the Festus R-6 Middle School; member of First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City; and had been active with the league of Women Voters. She had travelled to Switzerland 3 times researching her family Genealogy; and was an avid reader, and flower gardener. She enjoyed crafting, and playing Pitch and Rummy; was a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, and a lover of large dogs.
   A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City, Missouri, officiated by Pastor Tish Green of First United Methodist Church. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials in her memory are preferred to the Humane Society of Missouri.
