Hardeman Crowe 'Hardie' Bond

   Hardeman Bond age 97, of Crystal City, passed away on Saturday, July 27. Mrs. Bond was a retired teacher, having taught in Hoene Spring, Eureka, Hillsboro and in Chula Vista California, but primarily in the Crystal City Schools for 23 years. She was a graduate of The University of Missouri, Columbia. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, the Missouri Retired Teachers Association, the University of Missouri Alumni Association and Chapter FR of PEO.
   Born June 11, 1922, in Riverside, Missouri, the youngest of six children born to the late Samuel Howard Crowe and Frances (North) Crowe.
   She is survived by her daughter, Susan Bond Nardizzi, of Crystal City, and by grandchildren, Bradley and Katherine Nardizzi of New York, NY, as well as by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Bond, Jr, as well as by her five siblings, Howard Crowe, Susie Bradley, Elizabeth Partney, Dr. John Crowe and Frances Patrick. Visitation will be from 1 pm to 8 pm Friday, August 9, with the 7-8 pm hour reserved for those wishing to share memories or an anecdote about their experiences with Mrs. Bond, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 West Main St., Festus. The funeral will be held at 11 am, Saturday, August 10, Grace Presbyterian Church, 105 Bailey Rd., Crystal City. The Reverend Joshua Noah will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Grace Presbyterian Church, Friends of the Fountain.
