   James Cook age 83, of Crystal City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Festus, Missouri. He was born August 25, 1935 in Oakville, Illinois, the son of the late Thelma (nee Morgan) and Pleasant Lee Cook.
   He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Souders) Cook; son Thomas "Lee" (Mary) Cook of Acworth, Georgia; daughter Teresa Marie (Tom) Meyer of Pevely, Missouri; grandchildren Andrew James Cook, Kelsey Ann Cook, Shelbey Frances Tucker, Brock Alexander Meyer, Jonah Zachary Tucker, Thomas Paul Cook, and Blake Andrew Meyer; and a great-grandson Bentley Andrew Meyer.
   In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Frances (the late Gerald) Berbling.
   He was a U.S. Navy Veteran; retired autoworker from General Motors Corporation; and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal City.
   Visitation 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Funeral services 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Fred Starkweather of Claremore, Oklahoma. Interment with full military honors in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials in his memory are preferred to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.
