Orville Bernard 'Obie' O'Brien

   Orville O'Brien age 101, of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Festus, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Stonecrest at Burlington Creek in Kansas City. He was born March 7, 1918 in Festus, Missouri, the son of Emma (nee Grassman) and Bernard Thomas O'Brien.
   In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Wanda Marie (nee Maurice) O'Brien, daughter, Kathleen Marie (nee O'Brien) Knoeber, and brothers Carlton Perry (the late Delores "Polly") O'Brien and Allison "AL" (the late Jo) Francis O'Brien.
   He is survived by daughter Judith Ann O'Brien of Alpharetta, Georgia, and son-in-law Mark Knoeber of Parkville, Missouri. He is also survived by 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
   He served in the United Sates Army during the Korean War.
   Obie was loved for his spirit of life, good humor and devotion to family and friends.
   Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 10, 2019 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, followed with a graveside service at 11:30 A.M. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, Missouri, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink. Memorials in his memory memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
