   Elmer Duren age 81, of Bismarck, Missouri, formerly of Festus, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at his home. He was born June 22, 1937 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, the son of the late Violet (nee Mayberry) and Ralph Duren.
   He is survived by his wife Marie (nee Weiss) Duren; daughters Carrie Abrams of Herculaneum, Missouri, Sherry (Mark) Caldwell of Festus, and Teresa Bequette of Farmington, Missouri; son Steve (Terry) Pirtle of Helena, Montana; brother Robert "Popeye" (the late Rosa) Duren of Festus; grandchildren Caleigh (Tanner) Beyatte, and Zachary (Kayla) Abrams; a great-granddaughter Karleigh Beyatte; and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
   In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary G. (nee Carter) Duren; sisters Juanita Duren, Nancy Delaney, and Roberta O'Neal; and brothers Raymond, Virgil, Frank, Ronald, George, and Alvin Duren.
   He was a U.S. Army Veteran; retired carpenter; and member of Elks #1721.
   Visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Pastor Ron John of Victory Church in Pevely, Missouri. Interment in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, Missouri. Memorials in his memory are preferred to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
