   James "Roger" Uding age 79, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri. He was born July 23, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Jesse Elizabeth (nee Zeltner) and William Henry Uding.
   He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon (nee Self) Uding; sons James "Rodney" Uding of St. Louis, and Paul (Tamra) Uding of Park Hills, Missouri; daughter Sheri Ziesmer of Festus; sister Donna (the late Earl) Grieshaber of Festus; brothers Lowell (Diane) Uding of Crystal City, and Gary (Cathy) Uding of Festus; grandchildren Asian Uding, Dustin Uding, Jensen Uding, and James Ziesmer; and great-granddaughters Amelia, Elliana, and Sophia.
   In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Ross William (Rosalyn survives of Festus) Uding, and Dennis Uding.
   He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles. He was a retired carpenter with the Carpenter's Union Local #2214; and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of DeSoto.
   Visitation from 9:30 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 Noon, Monday, November 12, 2018 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Bro. Rich Grayson. Interment with full military honors in Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery in Festus. Memorials in his memory are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
