   Calvin Buechting age 93, of Pevely, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri. He was born January 15, 1925 in Antonia, Missouri, the son of the late Rose (nee Wuertenburg) and Frederick Joseph Buechting, Sr.
   He is survived by his wife Betty (nee Martin) Buechting; daughters Terry (Gene) Watson of Gerald, Missouri, and Cindy (Michael) Dallas of Festus, Missouri; son David (Michele) Buechting of Festus; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law Victor (the late Erna) Martin of Pevely.
   In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Mildred (the late Walter) Strattman; brothers Earl (the late Winifred) Buechting, and Fred "Jiggs" (the late Ruth) Buechting; and a sister-in-law Helen (the late Vince) Joannes.
   He was an Army Veteran of WW II. He retired from St. Joe Lead Company in Herculaneum where he was a clerk in the store room and medical department, and had formerly worked for PPG in Crystal City, and the Ozark Dairy Farms. He was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely; was a member of VFW #3777, American Legion #253 and their Patriot singing group.
   Visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 17, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely, officiated by Pastor Bryan Roberts. Interment with full military honors in Antonia Cemetery in Antonia, Missouri. Memorials in his memory are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church of Pevely, or the Antonia Cemetery.
