David Kent, Sr.
age 69, of Pevely, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Anthony's Medical Center in South St. Louis County, Missouri. He was born March 1, 1949 in Murphysboro, Illinois, the son of Mary (nee House) and Riley Kent of Festus, Missouri.
Also surviving are his wife Darlene (nee Reece) Kent; daughters Lori A. (Timothy) Kernan of Barnhart, Missouri, and Julia L. Kent of Imperial, Missouri; son David L. Kent, Jr. of Festus; sisters Janet Hobson of DeSoto, Missouri, and Nancy (John) Anders of DeSoto; grandchildren Alicia, Justin, Jacob, Kylee, Isabella, and Scarlet; and great-grandchildren Jayden, Trenton, Ramona, Camden, and Lennox.
He is preceded in death by his brother Steven James Kent, Sr.; and a sister Christine (Steve survives of DeSoto) Lucas.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran; worked for the Pevely Street Department, retired from Coachman Homes in Herculaneum, Missouri; and attended Radiant Life Pentecostal Church in Festus.
Visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely. Funeral services 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 16, 2018 at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Randy Gray of Radiant Life Church. Interment with full military honors in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely. Memorials in his memory are preferred to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
