Rev. Joseph Rhodes
age 85, of Climax Springs, Missouri, formerly of Festus, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at NHC Osage Beach Health Care Center in Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born May 21, 1932 in Fortescue, Missouri, the son of the late Muriel (nee Toney) and Roy Earl Rhodes.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Genetha Frankie (nee Doss) Rhodes; a son James Earl Rhodes; and a sister Marilyn Soliday.
He is survived by his second wife Donna (nee Dodd) Husong Rhodes of Jefferson City, Missouri; sons Darryl (Darlene) Rhodes of Farmington, Missouri, and Ronald Roy (Brenda) Rhodes of Climax Springs; a sister Evelyn Brown of Loveland, Colorado; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a Marine Corps Drill Sergeant and Veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired Pentecostal Pastor of 45 years, having churches in Missouri and Arkansas. He served as District Superintendent of Southern Missouri, District Presbyter, District Secretary and the District Board of Directors.
Visitation 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Radiant Life Church, 11533 Gamel Cemetery Road, Festus. Visitation Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 noon, at Radiant Life Church. Interment with full military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials in his memory are preferred to the Disabled Americans Veterans.
